Best Non-Alcoholic Gin for your Next Mocktail 2025
/Non-alcoholic gin is very easy to come by these days, and there are lots of them on the market. Gin is very herbal with juniper berries and other botanicals, thus it's easy to replicate those flavors in a non-alcoholic version as the alcohol 'flavor' is not the thing that makes gin taste good.
Seedlip was one of the first "gin type" non-alcoholic elixers. We wouldn't even call it a spirit, as there is no burn and it gets lost in a cocktail so easily. But when it launched in the mid 2010s, it was one of the first on the market. Now there are dozens and dozens of zero proof gins with their own distinct flavour profile.

1. The Free Spirits Company - Spirit of Gin
Best for: A non-alcohoic Negroni
Tasting notes:
No matter how many times we go back to this one, it's a world class option. It's probably the best gin out there in the non-alcoholic space. It works in every drink and really truly tastes like real gin. The nice thing about Free Spirits is that it has heat and flavor but still stays crisp and not overly sweet like some other bigger name brand gins (Tanqueray, we're looking at you!). It's also got B12 in it, so functional benefits along with the taste! It's our favourite gin for a non-alcoholic Negroni.
Widely available at non-alcoholic retailers in Canada.
2. Sobrii 0-gin
Best for: Gimlet's and other complex cocktails
Tasting notes:
This Canadian-made non-alcoholic gin is pungent and flavour forward and meant to be mixed into a mocktail. It's very juniper forward but you can taste the anise, coriander and ginseng notes in the well balanced mix. It's great with tonic water and fresh lime, or because of it's strength, it works in really citrus forward cocktails too like a gimlet. A 1:1 substitution works with Sobrii 0-gin too - unlike some lighter gin subsitutes that need 1.5 or even double the quantity. For this reason, we think this is one of the best non-alcoholic gin in the category.
Available in Canada only.
3. Dhos
Best for: Bright and crisp mocktails
Tasting notes:
Dhos is very juniper forward, so it's perfect if you're looking for that typical London gin taste. It's also got a great burn to it, which is rare in some of the other zero proof spirits in this category. It's a great match with lemon in bright crisp mocktails like Bee Knees, or in a French 75.
4. Lyre's London Dry Gin
Best for: Light mocktails with sugar-free ingredients
Tasting notes:
When you open a bottle of Lyre's Dry London Style, it smells just like the real thing with that crisp bite. London dry gins are usually not sweetened like other styles of gin, and the Lyre's imitation is also quite dry and crisp. It's a lot less pungent than some of the other non-alcoholic gin available now, but the juniper is the dominant flavour alongside some notes of light citrus.
5. Tanqueray 0.0
Best for: Greyhound cocktails, or anything with fresh grapefruit juice
Tasting notes:
This non-alcoholic gin is a great dupe of real gin and hits the flavors of Tanqueray to a tee, but it's also quite sweet with a lot of added sugar. It's a perfect match for juicy mixers or bitter sodas like tonic water.
6. Amsterdam Damrak Virgin
Best for: Non-alcoholic gin martini
Tasting notes:
Drinking a sample of the Damrak really helped us to see the potential of the category from mid-sized distillers. The lemon zing in this non-alcoholic gin makes it unique, and a really great option to pair with vermouth. The citrus adds a nice flavour element, almost essential to a well rounded non-alcoholic gin. You don't need to add olives to the martini, but definitely express some citrus zest over the glass and drop it in for another touch of bitter citrus.
7. Monday Gin
Best for: basic gin and tonic cocktails like a Rickey
A lot of people like to say that Monday gin is the gest non alcoholic gin, but that's subjective. Monday gin is good, but not the best. We think it's best in straightforward simple cocktails with only a little citrus.
THINK PINK
Before being sober curious, we had no idea there was a pink gin. If you didn't either, that's ok. Here's one of the best non alcoholic pink gins to drink according to us!
8. Fluere Raspberry Gin
Best for: Raspberry based mocktails
Tasting notes:
This non-alcoholic gin is full of flavour and so simple in its elegance, that drinking it with some raspberry and soda water is almost all that you need. It's a touch sweet with a very gentle heat balancing out the flavor. Fluere Raspberry almost tastes like there's alcohol in it, because it's so sharp on the palate. But don't worry, it's only 0.5%.
