Bridgerton Mocktails
/If you’re a big fan of the show, you’ll appreciate these two Bridgerton themed mocktails.
These two recipes are from the Raising The Bar subscription box for May and honestly, it never gets less exciting to open up the box and see that every single thing someone would need to make an elevated mocktail is included, from the non-alcoholic spirits to the mixers and syrups. It’s the perfect formula for anyone who wants to experiment with mocktails, but doesn’t want the fuss and hassle of finding all the ingredients themselves.
But, if you don’t have one of the May boxes and want to make these yummy mocktails on your own, I’ve provided instructions for that as well.
Ceder’s Wild is the non-alcoholic spirit this month, and it’s widely available in Canada through Longos and the U.S. via the Ceder’s website.
So let’s get to it and make some Regency-inspired mocktails!
Talk of the Ton
Talk of the Ton is a refreshing light and fizzy mocktail. It’s also really easy to make if you’ve got the Raising The Bar box - if not, you can still make it at home!
Making gold ice
Finding gold flake is relatively easy on Amazon - this was not included in the Raising The Bar kit. The trick is to fill a small square silicone ice cube tray with water, and use tweezers to pick up the gold pieces and place on top of the cube. They won’t sink during freezing like edible glitter does.
Ingredients:
2 oz Ceder’s Wild non-alcoholic spirit
4 oz AVEC Yuzu and Lime sugar-free seltzer **If making at home with the kit, any lime seltzer is fine and add a splash of lemon
1 dropper of Woodster alcohol-free bitters *without the kit, use 4 dashes of All The Bitters aromatic bitters or any other aromatic bitters you want
A splash of fresh lime juice
Preparation:
In a highball glass with ice, add all the ingredients and stir. Garnish and enoy!
2. The Wallflower
Did you know, in the Bridgerton’s Regency Era, the pineapple was a symbol of extreme wealth, and a pineapple could cost someone close to $8,000 in today’s dollars. It’s a hidden symbol throughout the show specifically at Daphne and the Duke of Hastings wedding. With its luxurious appeal, its appropriate that the pineapple plays a starring role in this themed mocktail.
This mocktail has pineapple, citrus, non-alcoholic gin from Ceders and a surprise flavour boost from cardamom syrup. It’s spicy, juicy and luxurious - delicious and definitely this season’s diamond.
Ingredients:
2.5 oz Ceder’s Wild
1.5 oz pineapple juice
.75 oz lime juice
1 tbsp egg white
1 tbsp cardamom syrup *easy to make at home, or use a pre-made cinnamon coffee syrup
Bitters, optional
Preparation:
Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice and give it a dry shake.
Add ice and shake again just to chill.
Strain into a coupe glass
Dot with a few drops of bitters (optional)
Garnish as you desire!
Cheers!
