Florida OJ Immunity Mocktail - Orange Glow

OJ takes centre stage in juicy immunity mocktail

Presented by Florida Orange Juice

When life hands you oranges, make a mocktail! It’s January and many people are sick or almost sick or just getting over being sick. When I was growing up, my mom swore by a daily glass of Florida Orange Juice as the side-kick to help support immunity. It is the Original Wellness Drink, if you ask me. It isn’t just a breakfast staple - it’s a versatile, nutrient-rich powerhouse that can be so helpful to your winter wellness daily routine.

I haven’t been drinking a lot of OJ in the last decade or two, but I was recently doing some research into nutrient rich foods, and when I found out how much I was missing out on by not drinking 100% orange juice anymore, I was floored. It’s so much more than vitamin C.

100% orange juice includes essential nutrients you need like vitamin C, potassium, and folate but is also naturally sweet and tangy, making it a key ingredient in so many creative recipes including mocktails. For instance…a margarita mocktail uses Florida OJ instead of orange liqueur for an almost perfect substitute! Its natural sweetness means you don’t have to add any other sweeteners.

Beyond taste, 100% orange juice offers a host of health benefits such as helping to support a healthy immune system, aiding in hydration, and even contributing to heart health.

Vitamin C: The Immunity Champion

COPYRIGHT SOME GOOD CLEAN FUN 2025

A single 250 mL serving of 100% orange juice contains approximately 100% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) for vitamin C. This essential vitamin plays a crucial role in:

Supporting immune function by stimulating white blood cell production.

Acting as a powerful antioxidant, helping to neutralize free radicals that can cause cell damage.

Enhancing iron absorption from plant-based foods, making it a valuable addition to vegetarian and vegan diets.

Potassium: Heart and Muscle Health

100% orange juice provides about 10% of the RDI for potassium in a 250 mL/glass. Potassium is vital for:

Regulating blood pressure by counteracting the effects of sodium.

Supporting muscle function, including your heart.

Maintaining fluid balance in the body.

Folate: Essential for Cell Growth

A 250mL serving contains around 15% of the RDI for folate, a B-vitamin essential for:

Red blood cell formation.

DNA synthesis and repair, crucial for growth and development.

Supporting healthy brain function.

Thiamine and Vitamin B6: Turn Food into Energy

100% orange juice is a natural source of thiamine (Vitamin B1) and vitamin B6, which are involved in energy metabolism. These nutrients help convert food into fuel, keeping you energized throughout the day. If you’re trying to stay on track with a new workout plan, or just need energy to power your busy day, 100% orange juice can help.
