Dry July Success Tip: Don’t Overthink It

Reflection is great, but overthinking can be the enemy of any kind of progress. Take the pressure off – you don’t have to succeed at your goal right away. Just give it a try … substitute your usual 5 o’clock drink with something else, find a comfy seat to relax in and see how it goes. Give it 15 minutes and just watch – do you feel more relaxed? Are you enjoying what you choose to drink or do you need to try something different tomorrow? 

Tip: if your mind starts spinning, take action! Experiment with a new recipe, go for a walk, or finally declutter that junk drawer. Remember, just because your mind starts talking, doesn’t mean you have to listen!
